Chinese traditional food - Shaobing

 


Shaobing (baked crispy SESAM cake) is one of many cake eaten snacks for Chinese breakfast. Shaobing is as popular as American muffin or biscuit in China.


Ingredients:


1 Lb. self rising flour


1 Cup lukewarm water


2 Ounce peanut butter


1 Oz sesame


4 Tbsp syrup


Directions:


1. Mix flour with water and knead until soft dough forms (make sure batter is not sticky).


2. Roll dough out onto lightly floured surface into circle 1/3 inch thick.


3. Spread peanut butter on circle and circle curl to a log.


4. Slice log into 1.5 inch thick pieces. Flatten you pieces in about 1/3 inch thick cake.


5. Brush the surface of the cake with syrup and then Sprinkle sesame on the surface.


6. Bake the cake at 190 ° C until lightly browned.
